Publiko comes from the Spanish word “publico” which means public or audience.

For us it`s the perfect name to emphasize our wish to create a place for the public. We offer a unique venue and aim to be your “go to” neighborhood restaurant at Majorstuen. You will be greeted in an informal atmosphere and given great service as the backdrop for an unforgettable evening. Our guests can book tables in advance, but are also welcome to drop by unannounced all opening days. We wish you a warm welcome to a fantastic restaurant experience.


Publiko is our take on sustainability. We use, as much as possible, local produce, local beer and alcohol when the quality meets our standards.

We adapt our menu according to the seasonal changes, and our respect for the ingredients makes us use as much of one ingredient as possible. As not to throw away good food. With this being the backdrop for our mentality, we use whole animals as much as possible. We dry-age our meat in maturing cabinets to give your taste buds an experience out of the ordinary. The whole of the vegetables are used, and we use Norwegian fish and seafood to provide top quality produce.


We play with the best Norway offers of produce, in combination with the best Europe has to offer. During your visit to Publiko you will be presented with new varieties of know dishes, as well as making new culinary acquaintances.

The Josper-grill is at the heart of our cuisine, and grilling is a technique that is well used in composing our dishes.

The Spanish Josper charcoal grill is known for its unique control of warmth, low usage of charcoal and its high efficiency.
